Supa Tip #2: Keep moving in the dark when you have a flat with Bridgestone's DriveGuard tyres

Flat tyres happen. That said, it's not great to get a flat in the middle of nowhere, especially at night. That's why we recommend fitting your car with Bridgestone DriveGuard run-flat tyres. Not only are these run-flats friendly on your purse, and available for most popular passenger vehicles, they will also safely take you out of that dodgy area of town by keeping you moving at 80km/h for 80km. Feel safer everywhere you go by getting yours fitted today at your nearest Supa Quick.

Supa Tip #4: Save your purse with Supa Quick's Tyre Damage Guarantee!

We can't guarantee that you won't hit a pothole on our roads, but we can guarantee that if you do we'll replace your damaged Firestone or Ecopia tyre! The even better news is with our Tyre Damage Guarantee, you'll only ever pay for the tread you've used! We'll look at the remaining tread life on your tyre and the average remaining depth of tread will give you a discount off your replacement tyre. We call it our Tyre Damage Guarantee, but you can call it our purse saving initiative!

Supa Tip #5: Stash your handbag in the boot to avoid smash and grabs

Smashing and grabbing is on the rise in SA. Unfortunately, single women tend to be targeted, and mostly at night. Make sure that what's yours stays yours by putting your handbag and other valuables in the boot instead of on your passenger seat. Then always remain vigilant at robots, don't get distracted by street vendors and beggers and keep an eye out for broken glass on the road – a good indicator that a particular robot is a smash and grab hotspot!

Supa Tip #6: Pack a punch!

Not all of us are kung-fu masters, but - luckily for us mere mortals - there are other forms of protection that don't involve perfecting a roundhouse kick. If a self-defense class just seems too unrealistic, invest in mace, pepper spray or a tazer gun. If all else fails, simply use your car keys to better arm yourself against an attacker during a self-defense situation. Hold most of your keys and the key ring inside your palm and slot the jagged side of your keys in between each finger, pointing outwards. Hello Wolverine!

Supa Tip #7: Master the parking lot

The parking fairy has been good to you and you've found a sweet parking spot, but before you park your vehicle, take a squiz at what you're parking next to. If it's an unmarked van without glass windows, or a car with rather unsavory characters sitting inside the car, perhaps give it a skip. A new trend has arisen where women are being abducted while leaving or entering their vehicles in parking lots. Be street smart and always follow your gut instinct.

Supa Tip #8: Get a move on by getting in and driving off

You might feel safe while you are seated in your car, but in reality you may be more of a sitting duck. Be wary of taking calls and messages, fitting in a quick bite or fiddling in your handbag once you have climbed into your vehicle. If you are in a public place or a dodgy part of town, especially in the early morning or late at night, rather get in and drive off as soon as you can to avoid a possible highjacking situation.

Supa Tip #9: Protect your toetsies when painting the town red with some deo

It's Friday and it's time to dance your work week worries away! We all have a pair of heels in our cupboard that we just don't wear because they're prone to giving you blisters. Well, we say it's time to take those puppies out on the town - all you'll need is some clear deodorant, and it's not for your underarms! Prevent blisters on your feet by simply rubbing clear deodorant on the effected areas to stop blister-forming friction in its tracks!

Supa Tip #10: Fix that broken lippie

You'd blame Taylor Swift for your latest addiction to the red lippie look, but the truth is you've always looked smashing rocking a red pout. If, by some tragic event, your lipstick manages to break off, there is no need to worry that your next paycheck is a bit far out – just fix it yourself! Simply use a lighter to melt the bottom of the broken piece and re-attach to the stick. Hold in place for a couple of seconds and then pop it into the fridge for an hour to set, and voila, your lipstick is back in action!

Supa Tip #11: Have a happy hair day every day with DIY dry shampoo

We all know the concept of the 'bad hair day' all too well. If you're in a rush or you've slept in just a tad too late and don't have time for that much needed shampoo, wing it by mixing your own dry shampoo using a quarter cup of cornflour and a few drops of your favourite essential oil. Apply the mixture to the roots of your hair, comb through and marvel at the magic of your greasy hair day going poof! If you have darker hair, mix in equal parts of cocoa powder with the cornflour to match your hair colour.

Supa Tip #12: Rock that white collar with some shaving cream

Ever put on a nice, crisp white shirt, just to realise you managed to get some foundation on your collar? Don't rush around looking for a new outfit to wear – simply apply a small amount of shaving cream to a damp facecloth and wipe your make up faux pas away. The shaving cream won't harm your clothing and, best of all, you won't need to magically find the time to change before that big meeting with the CEO and board of directors!
